Testimonial: "Having been given an opportunity to preview the LandDev product in depth we are extremely excited to see this product come to market. Our Team feels that a well thought out product has been missing for some time in the “Big Picture” of Builder software. This will finally support all facets of the Builder enterprise. In fact, we think it has huge possibilities in the High Rise, Infill, Multi family and Rehab facets of the Industry." Pat Sargent, President Sargent Consulting, Inc.
LandDev is built around the familiar Microsoft applications of Excel (Spreadsheet) Outlook (Email) and Project (Scheduling). Most land developers are already using one or more of these applications. Excel in particular is very popular for budget management and for bid control and comparisons. Scheduling is important for land development projects. LandDev is uses the Microsoft Project scheduling program and improves upon it's functionality. Outlook is used to send email to notify managers of important events, such as a variance request from the field. Also, bid request, purchase orders, back charge notifications, and payment information is sent to contractors through the email system (as Excel spreadsheets). Click here to see a sample screen.
The LandDev system creates a 'wrapper' around these Microsoft applications and controls them. For example, all of the Excel spreadsheets are created automatically from data stored in a database. These spreadsheets are stored in a special location accessible only through the system's user interface. Tight controls ensure that all data balances and totals correctly. The system manages the following processes: - Bank Budgets
- Estimating
- Initial Budgets
- Generate Bid Request
- Request for Bids
- Bid Comparison and Vendor Selection
- Purchase Order generation
- Variance Requests (Both time and money)
- Payment Request and Invoice Processing
- Construction Scheduling
- Document Management
- Loan and Draw Processing
- Full Job Costing
The system uses the PowerTrieve report writer for reporting. The reporting actually comes from the database, not the individual spreadsheets. All data in the spreadsheets is stored in the database. This allows for analysis both within projects and across projects. The system does not include any accounts payable or general ledger functions. Instead it interfaces with other accounting systems. Currently the system interfaces with the Solomon system (A Microsoft product). |
